The workshop entitled “Research methodology in soil, microbial and plant systems” within the UKF project ʽNew approaches in understanding of the compatibility relationships and pollen–pistil interactions in olive (Olea europaea L.)ʼ was held on May 22 in the Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation. Co-workers at the project from all partners’ institutions participated in the workshop and the project meeting.
During the workshop the following lectures were presented to audience:
- New research methodology in assessment of the compatibility relationships and pollen–pistil interactions (Gabriela Vuletin Selak, Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation, Croatia)
- Efficient DNA extraction from olive (Olea europaea L.) embryos for parentage analysis (Alenka Baruca Arbeiter, University of Primorska, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, Slovenia)
- The intimate life of Actinorhizal plants and symbiotic Actinobacteria (Petar Pujic, Université Lyon 1, UMR CNRS 5557 Ecologie Microbienne, UMR INRA 1418 – VetAgro Sup, Lyon, France
The implementation of the first part of the project was discussed at the beginning of the project personnel meeting. Gabriela Vuletin Selak reported about the accomplished milestones and KPIs and certain financial questions.
Working plan for the second project period was discussed, where further work on leaf, flower, pollen and embryo samples was planned. Participation in scientific symposiums, publishing of scientific and professional publications, application to other sources of funds is also planned as well as scientific training of project leader and laboratory analyses of the samples collected at the second field experiment.
- Nova metodologija u izučavaju reproduktivne kompatibilnosti i interakcije pelud–tučak (Gabriela Vuletin Selak, Institut za jadranske kulture i melioraciju krša, Hrvatska)
- Učinkovita izolacija DNA iz embrija masline (Olea europaea L.) u svrhu određivanja roditeljstva (Alenka Baruca Arbeiter, University of Primorska, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, Slovenija)
- Intimni život aktinoriznih biljaka i simbiotskih aktinobakterija (Petar Pujic, Université Lyon 1, UMR CNRS 5557 Ecologie Microbienne, UMR INRA 1418 – VetAgro Sup, Lyon, Francuska)
Pujića u svrhu analiziranja uzoraka prikupljenih tijekom drugog eksperimenta u razdoblju cvjetanja.
